Welcome! One of the things I love most about printable journals is how easy they are to make your own. You don’t need special equipment or fancy supplies to get started. Print the pages, arrange them however you’d like, fold them in half, add a few staples, and you’re ready to begin journaling.

Printing Your Journal

All Memorable Journals products are designed for standard US Letter paper (8.5″ x 11″).

Before printing, download the PDF to your device and open it in your preferred PDF reader.

When printing, take a moment to check the print preview and settings. Depending on your printer and software, you may need to select Scale to Fit (or a similar option) to ensure the entire page prints correctly. The print preview should show the full page without anything being cut off around the edges.

If you’re unsure about your settings, print a single test page first.

Some products include patterned pages that can be printed using a borderless setting if your printer supports it. This is completely optional.

Choosing Paper

One of the wonderful things about printable journals is that you can use the supplies you already have on hand.

  • Standard 20 lb printer paper works well for journals and calendars.
  • 24 lb paper provides a slightly sturdier feel and is one of my favorite choices for inside pages.
  • 28 lb paper is a nice option if you enjoy using markers or heavier pens.

Feel free to experiment and discover what you enjoy most.

Cover Paper Options

Covers can be printed on a variety of paper types depending on the look and feel you prefer.

  • 32 lb paper creates a sturdy cover while still folding easily.
  • Cardstock provides extra durability and a more substantial feel.
  • Regular printer paper can also be used if you’d like a lighter journal.

I often use 32 lb paper for my own journal covers because I like the balance between flexibility and durability.

Memorable Journals products are designed to print beautifully on standard printer paper. You can always experiment with heavier paper for covers if you’d like a sturdier journal.

Arranging Your Pages

There is no one right way to arrange the pages in your journal. Mix and match the designs however you’d like!

You may prefer to group similar pages together, alternate between different layouts, or scatter your favorite designs throughout the journal. Every journal can be a little different.

Have fun creating a journal that feels uniquely yours.

Assembling Your Journal

Once your pages are printed:

  1. Arrange the pages in whatever order feels right to you.
  2. Fold the stack neatly in half.
  3. Staple along the folded spine.
  4. Open your journal and start writing!

A simple folded-and-stapled journal is often all you need to capture meaningful memories, reflections, and everyday moments.

If you’d like to learn more about the stapler I use and why I recommend it, see How to Assemble a Journal Using My Favorite Stapler.

🌼 Helpful Tip

If you’re creating a thicker journal or calendar, you may find it easier to fold the pages in smaller sections first before folding the entire stack together. I often do this myself because it helps create a neater crease and makes the finished journal easier to assemble.

🌼 A Note

One of my favorite things about printable journals is that no two journals need to be exactly alike. Feel free to experiment with different page combinations, paper choices, and layouts until you find what works best for you.

Most importantly, don’t worry about making everything perfect. Journals are meant to be used, enjoyed, and filled with your thoughts, memories, and creativity.
